As I was walking out of a set-up meeting for the A

As I was walking out of a set-up meeting for the Art sale at the yacht club the other evening, this scene struck me as really beautiful. What appeared to be a monochrome scene was filled with warm yellow lights from the homes on the cliff, and in the harbour, as well as a few colours in the boats, particularly a blue and a red boat. The backdrop sky had a glow from the light dust from Vancouver. It was so serene. This painting sold last night!

Here is another painting in my show tonight. Also 8x8”, of a subject very dear and familiar to me - Eagle Harbour. I particularly love the tree in the middle that’s found its way out of the cliff at an angle. It makes it for me!
I’ve also shown the progressive stages of the painting. My process. I paint without sketching first. Just let the scene emerge. ⏭️ The best part is painting the sky as it starts putting another dimension on the landscape.
